Coaches/Mentors

Thank you for your interest in the Lego Lab!  And if you are already a Coach or a Mentor, we Salut You!

A Lego Lab Coach is generally a parent or educator who can commit to coaching students once per week during the Lego Lab.  Generally the commitment is either from 2:30 to 4:00 on Mondays (Flex Students), 2:30 to 4:00 on Thursdays (3rd & 4th grade) or 1:15 to 3:15 on Fridays (Flex 2-4th grade students).

A Lego Lab Mentor is generally a parent volunteer who is an architect or design professional and is interested in working with students once or twice a semester.

As coaches and mentors, we work on gently guiding students towards solutions for their design and building problems.  We also enjoy introducing students to interesting Lego elements that could be used in ways they or us ever imagined.

Serving as a coach or a mentor is a great way to enjoy watching students learn by doing!

If you have interest in volunteering as a Coach or a Mentor to the NMS Lego Lab, please email legolab@nelson-mandela-school.net.
